Would everyone like to know the best thing??? There are two types of borrowed word - loan words and calques. Loan words are words taken directly from the language i.e. tattoo, sushi, guillotine. Calques are words literally translated from the language before being borrowed i.e. beer garden, scapegoat, killer whale (incorrectly calqued, the original actually means whale killer which is a whole other post).

I feel it’s important you all know this is actually a group of five dads, and they started this as a way to entertain their kids. The bands on the band wheel are their favorite bands, while the songs on the songs wheel are their kids’ favorite songs.
Every night my cat will leave her throne (fluffy pink pillow on my bed) and begin her lamentation shift, during which she will wander throughout the house wailing about the horrors and how unloved she is and the injustice of it all. After about 10 minutes of this I will call her name and she will come slowly back into my room and crawl up the bed to gently headbutt me, meowing excitedly at the return of her loving mother who, it must be stressed, never moved.
